Overlanding roof top tent and accessory maker iKamper has a new wide-format rooftop tent called the Skycamp DLX, which the company claims can sleep four people. The key to the extra room is a design that essentially unfolds twice; both up and out. iKamper says the design “unfolds to double the sleep area while remaining compact underway.”

Features include a lot of windows and simple ingress/egress with an included ladder, and the windows can also all close up to block all exterior light for better sleep. The dual-layer, fiber-reinforced plastic hard shell encloses a poly-cotton liner that is waterproof and has a measure of insulation. The inflatable 4-inch mattress deflates easily and allows bedding to stay in the tent during transport, and a new cork flooring helps keep the tent quiet and fights moisture.

Integrated LED strip lights can be adjusted for color temperature and ten brightness levels. Small pole-supported awnings over the entrance and windows add a measure of cover in wet weather, and the quilted interior features a world map motif. iKamper published this short video showing the tent’s new features.

iKamper calls the Skycamp DLX a 4-season tent and says it weighs 190 pounds in transport mode. A retractable ladder is included. The sleeping area is just over 82 by 77 inches, but the Skycamp DLX is only about 85 by 54 inches when stowed. The tent is 48 inches tall fully deployed and 13 inches tall at most when closed. Mounting brackets, end caps, window poles, tools for setup as well as a pump for the mattress are included.
